One of the jaguars largest breeding grounds in Mexico, the town of Sonora, has some hope left, and is known to be an area that filters jaguars across the border, into the United States. In this area, though, farmers have been known to illegally hire ‘tiger hunters’ to hunt and kill jaguars to keep them away from horse and cattle (Miller et. al, 2015). Jaguars cannot stand up to guns and bullets. That is a battle that will be, time and time again, completely hopeless for the jaguar. This is why jaguars need you to stand up for them. They need educated individuals to understand the terrible and inhumane acts that are going on against them, and to stand up for them.

A war rages between ranchers and jaguars as each fight for their rightful space. When prey is low or territories overlap jaguars will turn to nearby bovine. This gives ranchers an incentive to kill Jaguars, simply due to an unfortunate overlap in territories (Nogueira, 2009).
